This one was 100% fun in spite of its age. With he world series just around the corner, I got the idea of watching old baseball flicks.
A sweet movie about the golden era of baseball. It would take a miracle for the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team to winthe pennant. His brother started watching it, and the both of them understood the message of believing in the seen and the unseen--a tenet of Catholic faith. He gets help from an angel named Al who miraculously leads the club to the playoffs. A young baseball fan prays for help for his losing team and his prayers are answered by an angel. It was even in the opening trailer, but I can't find it anywhere. I love Paul Douglas as the "guy who showed up for auditions and accidentally got selected." As a Pittsburgher and loyal Pirate fan who lived through the terrible Pirate teams of the 1950's ----they were so bad that they regularly lost more than 100 games in a 152 game season, it brought back memories of days at Forbes Field watching Ralph Kiner and a cast of complete incompetents.
