If I remember reading correctly, Disney was trying to get Beyond Witch Mountain to land as a weekly show. Tracy Gold & Kirk Cameron were great in the third installment of Witch Mountain.

It was originally intended to be the pilot for a television series, but no networks thought that viewers would take the show seriously, and so a second episode was never made. Together they race to find the boy before their old nemesis Aristotle Bolt does.

I believe I also remember reading that the networks didn't think viewers would take it to seriously & that was why it wasn't picked up(pre-Sabrina The Teenage Witch of course.)

Tia, Tony and Bené set up camp in the woods for the night, and they begin to visualize a cabin, which they draw in the dirt with a stick.

The children are also reunited with Winkie, Tia's black cat, who she entrusted to Jason at the end of Meanwhile, Bolt, now aware that the children have left their secret colony, sends Deranian to bring Jason to him, in an attempt to lure the children to Bolt. Eddie Albert is the only original cast member from the first " Escape to Witch Mountain (1975)" movie to return for this installment. Tracey Gold from "Growing Pains" played Tia. The children begin walking towards the colony, but Tony and Tia decide that they should seek out other survivors from their world, and bring them home to Witch Mountain. The children hitchhike their way to Bolt's estate to rescue Jason.
