I guess I am one of the few reviewers that actually likes the title, as I think is a wonderful and very apt allusion employed. And for that, I am grateful.

Robinson Crusoe On Mars is a marvellously colourful and atmospheric slice of the purest science fiction. (I remember all the talk about the movie Castaway , and how they were worried about Hanks on screen by himself for most of the movie...would people accept it? Was this review helpful? WE NEED A DVD! Thus first Draper, then McReady eject. They were usually cheap, cheerful and woodenly acted by square-jawed male leads and big- eyed supporting women. United States astronaut commander "Kit" Draper(Paul Mantee) must fight for survival with a pet monkey in tow as his only companion and a runaway slave from an exotic planet. March 21, 2010 Paul Mantee plays the protagonist that crash lands on Mars with simian friend Mona. Mars made its closest approach to Earth in August of 2003. Much beloved - and sadly overrated - by many science fiction fans. . Draper finds rocks that emit oxygen when heated, pools of potable water and plants that yield convenient breakfast sausages.

However, for all we know, Friday and his peers could have been malicious prisoners from a space penal colony. While Robinson Crusoe on Mars is more a kitsch curio than a classic movie, there is much entertainment to be had comparing this 1964 story of "a lone astronaut pitted against all odds beyond this Earth" with The Martian. There's an adorable space monkey, rocks that release oxygen when burned, and seaweed that grows hot dogs inside it. Whoa, Keanu Heck, it even has Batman! The guy who plays the Friday character is also very good. Pretty well acted, quite well staged, incredibly well written, and (at the time) scientifically accurate; who could ask for more? Almost every critique I've ever read of the film acknowledges the polished look of the martian scenes. The setting is a backpacker's paradise. 16 out of 19 found this helpful. And Mona the monkey is a life saver with her animal instincts.I think that this idea should actually be explored in real life. 3 out of 3 found this helpful.

We won’t be able to verify your ticket today, but it’s great to know for the future.Theater box office or somewhere else Paul Mantee looks and acts like one of the original Mercury 7 astronauts, and in this film he gives a tour-de-force performance.
