Hadn't seen the film in years. Love this film - Robert Redford - plays the Mountain Man leading a solitary life in the High Mountains only to find one day he has a wife and a young child too until breaking a Native Taboo he loses both and is attacked on a regular base by a warrior bent on killing him. This is the best Trapper film ever.Robert Redford plays Jeremiah Johnson,who fights to survive in the wilderness against the laws of nature and the Red Indians.He adopts a young orphan boy whose parents are slaughtered by Indians and takes a squaw as a wife. A brilliant film with well considered performance from Robert Redford. Still enjoyable though, as my cinematic "database" has increased a lot since the days of the CBS Friday Night Movies. It shows the harshness and isolation of the lifestyle of the "Mountain Man".
