The Big Short’s screenplay is pretty faithful to Lewis’s book in its sharpness, wit and tone, and focuses on the same characters even though most have been semi-fictionalised and renamed. However, I lost everything in the Crash 2007/2008 and am determined to find out why this happened to me when I had done absolutely nothing wrong. Movie.
What I don't understand is why didn't the perpetrators go to jail? The movie is equal parts dramatization and documentary in a way, using clever trickery to do its best to illustrate many of the reasons for the crash, and what came after. This is a fantastic movie about one of the most devastating frauds ever commited. The film's style is called 'documentary' but actually it isn't. Full.
