This Chinese/Korean feudal era period piece actioner from director Laam Chi Wai has a young warrior (Zhang Zhuo-wen) and his faithful female friend (Chen Jie) fighting side-by-side against a group of Goth looking villains who possess destructive magical powers that our heroes must fight back against. No big CGI effects or green screen work lessen this movie.It does suffer though from, at a nearly 2,5 hour running time, still not developing all of it's characters really well (admittedly there's a lot of them) and a pacing that is again a little off.
