I hadn't even heard of this film before, I merely stumbled across the poster one day and it looked quite cool, the title was the eye catcher though, love that. Man, Carpenter hasn't done anything in so long that it would be in his financial interesting and, well, just plain interesting for him to do an animated "family" film (I don't want to know about his family), but if any legendary gorror filmmaker was going to direct this, then it would be David Cronenberg, because this film is so Canadian that it gave Brendan Fraser and William Shatner jobs. After a brief confrontation with the group, they at long last get a weapon to her head and she reluctantly agrees to bring them to Zoom's lair. On Earth-1, Caitlin discovers something that can spare Jay's life. Barry reveals that man in the iron mask is presumably utilizing an old military lattice code - work out the letters in order on a five-by-five network, and you'll get his message. This is very much by-numbers pre-teen fare, spiced up by the sound of William Shatner enjoying himself. We won’t be able to verify your ticket today, but it’s great to know for the future.Regal Ricky Gervais is definitely the highlight of this film, shame he didn't have more lines. Right before he is about to kill Jesse, Cisco is able to convince Killer Frost to turn on Zoom which gives everyone else enough time to escape.

When I, originally, saw the trailers to this film, I was reminded of Planet 51. Oh, come on, people, don't tell me you weren't thinking it when you saw this film's title, even if you only did it to not think of "Planet 51". As Barry escapes, Zoom shows up and reveals that Killer Frost had warned him that they were coming. Even the robust Fraser is hard-pressed to make Scorch come off as anything more than a Buzz Lightyear clone. On the plus side, the pic aims some of its humor at grown-up viewers, and scores with sly allusions to ’50s sci-fi thrillers and educational films. However, before he can show up, Geomancer appears and begins threatening Caitlin and Iris. Of course, the fact of the matter is that this film is no more likable than it is unlikable, having its strengths, to be sure, but also an almost crippling collection of weaknesses, or at least laziness, even within its basic story concept. | Rating: 2/5

Trouble is, it’s difficult for even the standouts to dispel the sense that “Escape From Planet Earth” spends a great deal of time recycling stock characters. Escape from Planet Earth is a 2013 Canadian-American 3D computer animated comedy-adventure science fiction film produced by Rainmaker Entertainment and distributed by The Weinstein Company in the United States and Alliance Films in Canada, directed by Cal Brunker, with a screenplay which he co-wrote with Bob Barlen, and features an ensemble voice cast that includes Rob Corddry, Brendan Fraser, Sarah Jessica Parker, William Shatner, Jessica Alba, Jane Lynch, Craig Robinson, George Lopez, Sofía Vergara, Astronaut Scorch Supernova finds himself caught in a trap when he responds to an SOS from a notoriously dangerous alien planet. In this movie, not so much. In a lush zone, Harry, Cisco, Earth-2 Barry, and Iris encounter Killer Frost, requesting that she assists them in finding Zoom's lair.

They were trying too hard to be cute and clever. Barry vows to return for him when everything is over. Harry asks Barry to close the breach and wounds Zoom with a needle. The animation is fine for a movie that, clearly, didn't have the budget of a Pixar movie. This movie features characters including Gary, Eckle and other Baabians from the previous film "Planet 51". The animations in this film aren't all that special, as they're conventional and, if you will, a little too over-the-top, often to the point of feeling lacking in life, yet the designs never abate when it comes to delivering on sheer color, particularly during the action. Lets just call it planet bland with lots of interstellar alien logos, yep the aliens in this have their own TV stations, sponsors, adverts etc...just like us! Cinemark Meanwhile, Scorch has to babysit his 11 nieces and nephews, so he enlists his nephew Kip's help in babysitting the kids, which proves to be hard, Since Scorch's eldest niece, Beatrice, is terrible at babysitting, and the kids are wild and they like to have food fights Thinly drawn characters back a lame, clumsily structured plot that pays little attention coherency, and is only one of many misguided elements that make Barlen's and Brunker's script an ultimately considerable misfire that would make the final product bad if it wasn't for the directorial efforts that, for the record, also have their own problems to worry about. However, Earth-2 Barry stays behind and is able to get Barry through the mental block that is preventing him from freeing himself.

Now, I'm not asking that this film be all that unique, but may I be struck down if there's anything original here, as this narrative, at least in concept, is so shamelessly trite that even the sci-fi mythology behind it conforms too much to traditional sci-fi formulas, as well as to human cultures.
